Operating with the authority of the British Columbia Library Act, the West Vancouver Memorial Library Board is an autonomous body appointed by Municipal Council to manage the public library in the District of West Vancouver.

The Board appoints a chief librarian and staff, controls the expenditure of Council approved annual operating and capital budgets and regulates the use of library facilities and services by the public.
