  Book Donations

The Library and the Friends of the Library appreciate donations of library materials.  After careful consideration by our collection development librarians, these materials will either be added to the Library’s collection or included in the Friends of the Library’s book sales.

We accept the following:
  • Books published in the last 5 years and recognized classics, including books in these languages: Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Spanish
  • Popular paperbacks
  • Commercially produced CDs and DVDs
  • Magazines for the library’s give-away shelf
  • No encyclopaedias please.
  • All donations should be in excellent physical condition.
  • The library reserves the right to say “No, thank you” to donations that will not enhance the collection or the book sale.
Please bring donations to the front check-out desk on Thursdays.

What do the Friends of the Library do with proceeds from the book sale?
All proceeds come back to the Library to support projects and services including:
  • Programs such as the Summer Reading Club and the North Shore Writers Festival
  • Purchasing equipment such as paperback racks and the puzzle table
  • Renovating areas such as the Language Learning Lab and Group Study Rooms
  • Improving our sound system
  • And much more!
Thank you from the West Vancouver Memorial Library and the Friends of the Library.
