- Is a haven for children of all ages to meet, study and reference.
- Is a resource for seniors for books, audio books and large print books.
- Has a BOOKMOBILE to service all of West Vancouver.
The West Vancouver Memorial Library Foundation raises funds to enhance the library, and help it meet its goal of keeping the library current both in technology and in its inventory of books. |

YEAR 1
- Planning and design of the “new look” library
- Updated, more user-friendly Website
- Enhanced support of BOOKtopia, the Spring Festival for our younger patrons.
- Continuation of the Popular Books Program
- Additions for the Audio Books section
- Focus on books for the visually impaired
YEAR 2
- Reorganization of the books
- New Central Information Desk
- New Public Computer Centre
YEAR 3
- Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) System integration
- Conversion from Bar Code to Chip Identification
- A chip in every item means faster processing and returns
- Check out will register your loans with a simple swipe
- Check in will be automatic by dropping books into a chute
- More efficient, easier and time saving.

It will be a revolution in the technology of the Library making it one of the most advanced in the country.
Our three year plan includes funds to plan and implement exciting changes that will make it easier for you to use the Library, make it work better, save money, and improve services.
At the same time, we’re not forgetting the books! We’ll continue to bring you extra copies of the latest, most important literature, get more large print and audio books, and sponsor BOOKtopia for our younger patrons.
